Something you probably didn't know about me . . . I collect quotes. I first got this idea when I was watching A Walk to Remember and she is in the hospital and showing him a book that contains all of her favorite sayings/verses/etc. I loved the idea so much, I decided I needed to do the same. So, I have a notebook that I write down things that I hear or read that just stick with me - or that I want to make sure I don't forget! And, if I don't have my notebook (which is frequently) then I jot it down in the notes section of my iphone. I have a "quotes" note, just ready to be added to. I love words. They can be so powerful. And, the best part (or maybe the worst?) is, things you say today can stick around for hundreds of years. Think about it. We still quote Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, the Bible . . . Words are lasting, powerful things and I, for one, am grateful! Here are some of the quotes I love:
* "Maybe God has something bigger planned for me than I have planned for myself."
- A Walk to Remember
* "To see a world in a grain of sand and a heaven in a wildflower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in a n hour."
- William Blake
* "Oh, God, it's not the way I had things planned. But then, what of real, lasting value ever is?"
- Redeeming Love
* "To be wronged is nothing unless you continue to remember it."
- Confucius
* "I'd rather fight with you than make love with anyone else."
- The Wedding Date
* "Find something you love to do and you'll never work a day in your life."
- Clifton Murray
* "You have to let go of whatever you were and allow yourself to become who you are."
- Stacy London
* "Marry me Margaret, because I'd like to date you."
- The Proposal
* "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."
- Jim Elliott
* "My best successes come when I am at my absolute weakest. When I am weak, my God can be strong. And it's the battles He fights for me that end up being my greatest victories of all."
- On Every Side
* "Lots of people never do anything because they can't figure out how to do everything."
- Jill Briscoe
* "I refuse to let my weight determine whether I like myself, because myself is more than my thighs."
- Oprah
* "When we know better, we do better."
- Maya Angelou
* "In the end we will not remember the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

- Jane Elliot
* "A gold medal is a wonderful thing, but if you're not enough without it, you'll never be enough with it."
- Cool Runnings
* "Everybody is God's somebody."
- Motto of The Love Kitchen
* "It's when you're on top of the pedestal that you can fall off. When you're at the bottom is when you can grow."
- Princess Diana
* "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
- Dr. Seuss
* "Either write things worth reading or do things worth the writing."
- Ben Franklin
* "Sin always isolates you and it always makes you stupid."
- Rob Dunlop
* "Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in Him, for He shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between His shoulders."
- Deuteronomy 33:12
* "I asked for strength that I might achieve; I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey. I asked for health that I might do greater things; I was given infirmity that I might do better things. I asked for riches that I might be happy; I was given poverty that I might be wise. I asked for power that I might have the praise of men; I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life; I was given life that I might enjoy all things; I got nothing that I had asked for, but everything that I had hoped for. Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered; I am, among all men, most richly blessed."
- An Unknown Confederate Soldier
I know I said *some*, but believe me, there are A LOT more I could have added!
